Biodiversity
The application of a series of practices and respect for the environment surrounding us have always been the hallmark of Margheriti Piante, along with the great variety of our botanical collection.
Our nurseries today host thousands of species of insects, fish, reptiles, amphibians and mammals, which grow and reproduce, coexisting harmoniously with our human action.
Total maceration of plant waste to obtain potting soils to be used for growing.
The packaging used to dispatch our plants is entirely biodegradable.
The surplus rainwater and water deriving from the drip irrigation, is collected and stored thanks to a system of canals and basins.
We use containers made from regenerated polyethylene and, at the end of a production cycle, all pots that are not irremediably deteriorated are reused to grow new plants.
Total pot production includes mulching deriving from the grinding of wood waste, which helps drastically reduce the use of chemical weed-killers.
We have started to apply the principles of the integrated biological fight, significantly reducing the use of chemical anti-parasites and weed-killers and focussing on natural and biological solutions.
